Not all cottons are created equal. Thanks to ideal growing conditions, extra-long staple length and hand-harvesting, Peruvian pima cotton is the world’s finest pima, prized for its exceptional softness and brilliant luster. It is considered to be a superior blend of cotton, and is as durable as it is luxuriously soft.

– Naturally lustrous: The smooth soft feel is a result of the excellent growing conditions in the northern coastal valleys of Peru where it is cultivated. There, the rich soil soaks up just the right amount of moisture at near-perfect equatorial temperatures, resulting in a cotton with a brilliant luster and a silky, soft hand.

– Long-staple fiber: Peruvian pima cotton is classified as luxury because of its long length, which accounts for its superior quality and gives it its luxury status. It is the length of a fiber’s staple that determines the softness, smoothness and durability of the yarn and finished garment.

– Hand-harvested: Peruvian pima cotton is harvested by hand in order to winnow out the scratchy impurities. Cotton harvested industrially leaves scratchy impurities, which affect the smoothness and luster of the yarn and creates a yellowish color to the fiber.
